Come learn 3 wonderful formulas to broaden your range of sourdough baking and confidently feed all of those white sandwich loaf fans – we know they’re out there and may even be living in your house! Sometimes you just crave a soft, squishy slice. It’s all good and we’ve got you!
In this hands-on class you will learn 3 different formulas and techniques that can keep the flavor of your sourdough bread more mellow and the texture nice and soft. Same day mix and bake keeps flavor profiles sweeter and more mellow:
-A hybrid sourdough/commercial yeast loaf aka The Approachable Loaf
-A 100% Spelt sourdough loaf, so soft and sweet
-A triple hybrid Pain de Mie: Tangzhong + Sourdough + Commercial Yeast
*Knowledge of how to feed, maintain and bake with a sourdough starter is a prerequisite for this class. While we will answer any questions related to the class recipes, we will jump right in to mixing and will not cover the basics of sourdough maintenance.
-This class will be held at Grist & Toll, 990 S. Arroyo Pkwy, #1, Pasadena CA
-Students will take home their own Approachable loaf plus our favorite bread pan.
-Unless otherwise stated, G&T classes are for ages 18+
-Please bring your own apron. All other materials will be supplied by G&T
